What Is Email Bounce Rate?

Bounce Rate measures the percentage of emails that could not be delivered to recipients’ inboxes.

Email Bounce Rate Formula

Bounce Rate = (Bounced Emails ÷ Emails Sent) × 100

There are two main types:

  • Hard Bounces: Permanent delivery failures, such as invalid email addresses.
  • Soft Bounces: Temporary issues, such as full inboxes or server problems.

Maintaining a low bounce rate is important for sender reputation and deliverability.
